Murtalbahn

The Murtalbahn is the 760 mm narrow-gauge railway that runs from Unzmarkt in Styria via Murau and Tamsweg to Mauterndorf in Salzburg. The route is the second longest narrow-gauge railway in Austria and is operated by the Styria Railway (StB) up to Tamsweg. Until there it follows the valley of the eponymous Mur river.
From Tamsweg, the route has been leased by the Taurachbahn company since regular operations ceased. This is a sub-organization of Club 760 and runs a seasonal museum railroad operation with its own concession.
