The Achenseebahn is the meter-gauge cog railway in Tyrol. It leads from Jenbach to Seespitz am Achensee and was opened in 1889. To this day, the route is only used by steam locomotives.
The route leads from the three gauges train station Jenbach via the cogwheel route to Eben. At the beginning of the adhesion section, the locomotive moves to the front and pulls the two cars to the terminus in Seespitz am Achensee.
There is a connection to the Achensee-Schifffahrt ships. In Seespitz, the train moves again, so that the sidecars are pulled to Eben and there is no need to transpose. The route has not yet been electrified and, according to the schedule, will only be used by steam locomotives. It mainly serves the tourist business. In the course of an upcoming route renovation, the possibility of an expansion to a modern electric regional train and an extension to Pertisau should also be considered. Suitable vehicles could be taken over from the Appenzeller Bahnen in Switzerland.
The Achenseebahn models by FERRO-TRAIN have been developed on the basis of the tried and tested and popular cogwheel railway models of the Schnee- und Schafbergbahn. Since the sales opportunities are too weak for a new design and friends of the Achenseebahn did not give up, we decided on this variant.
Like their big role models, the models can push one or two wagons uphill and pull them on the flat. The starter set contains a locomotive (1-4), a car and a meter of track. Other cars are available under item number 1021-07. Nothing stands in the way of operation on your own route.
Benefit from an extensive range of models and accessories in stock, an excellent spare parts supply and the possibility to send in older models (Gerard) for maintenance or repair!
