The base station of the Schafbergbahn is located in St. Wolfgang, on the shores of Lake Wolfgang. The track is equipped with a rack for system Abt and overcomes a height difference of 1190 meters with a maximum gradient of 25.5%. The drive is exclusively on the cog rails, therefore all rails are equipped with a rack even in the plane. The route is not electrified and is driven by steam locomotives.
From the imperial era to the museum steam locomotives in their current color scheme, all models with corresponding wagons are currently available.
