Neutral Rekos

Reko is a name coined in the GDR for two-axle tram vehicles that were rebuilt (rekonstructed) or partly completely rebuilt in the Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Berlin-Schöneweide, which were sold in various designs from 1959 to 1975 to eastern Berliner and to other transport companies in the GDR.
In 1973 and 1986 some surplus Reko trains were sold to Potsdam. Further vehicles were delivered to Strausberg and Woltersdorf. From 1980, some Reko cars were converted into work cars. The use of Reko cars in Berlin ended in 1996.
After the construction of two-axle tram cars in the GDR ended in 1966, but there was still a need for two-axle trams at some smaller companies, the RAW Berlin-Schöneweide restarted the construction of the Reko trams for transport companies in the GDR from 1970.
From 1970 to 1976, one- and two-directional Reko cars were built for Dessau, Erfurt, Frankfurt (Oder), Görlitz, Halberstadt, Jena, Leipzig, Rostock, Schöneiche, Schwerin and Zwieckau, with Leipzig only getting sidecars.
To accommodate for the varieties the models of the famous Reko are city-neutral. The most cities were implemented by us in decal variants, thus it is now possible to depict several new variants with one model with the respective desired decal sheet.
Each decal sheet contains the stickers for a railcar and 2 sidecars (corresponds to a SET). Please order the desired decal variant separately for the model.
